Becoming a Wheely Chauffeur

What are the requirements to join the Wheely platform?

To become a partner, you must:

  • Be registered as a self-employed individual, or applying as a legal entity (i.e. Private Limited Company).

To become a Chauffeur, you must:

  • Be fully licensed by TfL, Royal Windsor & Maidenhead, CastlePoint or Hertsmere Councils. Alternatively, you can have an operator licence along with Private Hire Driver licence from any authority in England.

  • Be a UK resident with a National Insurance number

Important:

  1. Both you as a Chauffeur and your vehicle need to be licensed in order to become a Wheely Chauffeur.

  2. Both you and your vehicle must hold a licence from the same Institution.

How do I become a Wheely Partner?

  • Register on our website

  • Fill out some information about yourself

  • Add at least one Chauffeur into your partner account (for partner drivers, this will be yourself)

  • Upload your personal and vehicle documentation (please see our guidelines on uploading documentation and vehicle requirements).

  • Complete the pre-accreditation assessments (Basic Chauffeur Skill Test).

  • Book your City Knowledge Test via the link available on your dashboard, once you finish uploading all your vehicle’s and personal documents.

  • Subject to successfully passing the City Knowledge Test, our team at the Wheely Academy will book you in for the accreditation.

  • Once you have passed Accreditation and completed the required number of journeys for your vehicle class, you will receive a sign-up bonus. For further information, see the Sign Up Bonus FAQ

City Knowledge test and Accreditation process

Since January 15, 2025 we have updated onboarding process which now consists of two mandatory parts:

  1. City Knowledge Test

    • Duration: 30–40 minutes

    • Location: In-person at the Wheely Academy

    • Booking: Available via the link on your Chauffeur dashboard after all required documents have been uploaded.

  2. Accreditation

    • Duration: 2 full consecutive days

    • In-person at the Wheely Academy

    • Booking: Arranged by Wheely staff upon successfully passing the City Knowledge Test.
